R4-K2 Classes

Our classes promote problem solving, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking.

View the class descriptions below for more information. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Space Bots

In this class we'll be racing to build and program a robot that will navigate to a broken space ship and bring it back to base.

Sumo Bots

In these classes students will learn basic physics concepts and use what they learn build and program Lego EV3 Robots that battle autonomously in a sumo arena.

Maker Intro Workshop

This is an introductory workshop that is perfect for beginners. Using R4K2’s own Chassis, participants will brainstorm, design, and attempt to build robot parts to connect to our pre-made robot bodies. Kids will design a capture device with motors, wood and other supplies and attach them to pre-programmed bodies. Make a claw, a net, a scoop or whatever is best for your target prey. Students leave with the knowledge gained through creating and running this arduino based robot.

Intro to E-Textiles using the LilyTiny

Craft a glowing-eyed stuffed monster while exploring the LilyTiny pre-programmed microcontroller. This is a project based on the Tiny Monster Activity created at MIT’s High-Low Tech Lab by Emily Lovell, Jie Qi, and Natalie Freed. We’ll learn how to hook up the LilyTiny board, prototype with alligator clips, and plan a conductive thread circuit on a three dimensional project. This project is a great jumping off point for E-Textiles.
